Founded in 1930s Argentina by Salomon Rudman, Suixtil became the premier "gentlemen's outfitter" and the world's first specialized, stylish racing gear brand. In 1948, Suixtil became the official clothing provider for Argentina's national team, often referred to as Escuderia Suixtil, led by Juan Manuel Fangio, José Froilán González, and Oscar Gálvez. Drivers quickly saw not only the fashion but the function of the gear. Stirling Moss, Peter Collins, Mike Hawthorne, Jean Behra, Maurice Trintignant, Alberto Ascari and more all wore Suixtil. Mechanics wore Suixtil coveralls, the leather jackets and helmet bags were de rigueur. The brand vanished after Rudman's death in 1967, but was revived in 2007. Today, the brand produces high-quality clothing inspired by its original designs, ranging from polo shirts to jackets that reflect the golden age of racing. Enjoy these images of the fashion and the people who made Suixtil THE thing to wear. Today you can find the entire line at suixtil.com
