1956 to 1958 SEBRING UPDATE

Many BARCBOYs readers send us photos. The great auto historian Willem Oosthoek shared a bundle of photos taken by Bob Bellows in the late 50’s. Bob Bellows of Florida was an SCCA racer during 1959 and 1960. Bob ran a Porsche 1600 S as a Scuderia Faux Pas entry in races in Florida, Alabama and Georgia, always in FP production class, where he was a strong challenger. In addition, Bob was a budding photographer before he began racing. A few years ago he shared his photo collection with Willem Oosthoek and it is presented here. The scans I received were mostly in bad condition. Bellows eye was unique and while many of his photos were the usual “car in action” he loved taking shots of the women who came to the races as well as spectators, night shots and more. Please enjoy this collection. Unfortunately, I called Bob - Bill Bellows on some of the credits… My excuse? I’m old.
