Joe Cam’s Morgan gets a bit sideways. It didn’t seem to bother him as he won GP.

R. Butow’s Datsun leads Elly Frinona’s Morgan in a very tight GP race. Butow would finish 2nd on Saturday and Elly in 9th. On Sunday things would be different with Butow fading to 15th and Elly winning.

BARC member, PRDA President and fantastic guy Oscar Koveleski in his Super Cooper Chev won both modified feature races.

Jack Keller’s AWRA Imp in HM looks good here but did not finish in either race.

BARC member Sammy Feinstein in his Lola T-70 ran well but could not beat Oscar to first place. Two seconds were an excellent weekend.

J Repasch in a Porsche RS-60 first in EM and 6th overall but somehow behind Buzzy Marcus’ DP TR-4.

Dick Grime, BARC member, in his Elva MkII. Not a great weekend for Rich as he was a dnf twice. Rich had tried formula vee “At the start, I saw another car about three rows ahead of me go straight up in the air because it touched wheels with another car. Right then and there I decided that I would stick with closed-wheel,”

BARC memeber Harry Reynolds sits on the grid ready to go out in an amazing Formula car race. Formula A,B, C, Vee and I thought I saw a Formula Saab in there. Harry beat them all including the #6 FA Cooper just behind Harry.

Harry Reynolds won both formula races in his Lotus 20. Harry tells the story that it was one of the few times that car did not embarrass itself.

The old time Cooper of Fred Wood ran in Formula A. He drove well and had a 3rd and 4th overall against a huge field.

John Grubb in #24 hustles ahead of John Summerville in # 43. Summerville would finish the race just in front of Grubb.

Ferrell “Shorty” Miller in his Turner won both races in FP. Shorty won national races as well as the regionals.

K Smith’s TR-3 was 14th in E Production on Saturday but was a DNF on Sunday.

Eugene Hammer missed this corner, hit the bales and is trying to reverse out of the ditch. He did finish, but a lap down in 22nd.

Neil Fogelberg in his GP Sprite finished a nice 4th on both days. The field was a strong 22 cars.

David James Mini was 3rd in D Sedan behind a SAAB and a BMW 750. Once again, Reading brought out some unusual fields of race cars.

Good friend Lyle Heck in this MGB was 6th in DP.

BARC members Judy Beattie (bending over) and Bud Hofer standing work on their Lotus S7. Judy was 3rd on Saturday but did not finish on Sunday. We still think it was Bud’s fault.

Steve Elfenbein in a Stingray. Steve usually was in his older BP Corvette but had a nice weekend winning AP on Saturday and then DNF in his other car on Sunday

J. Syferd’s GT350 leads Tom Jorgenson’s Sting Ray. The GT 350 had a decent weekend with a 2nd on Sunday but a DNF on Saturday.

The indomitable Oscar Koveleski has won the feature race and shows the checkered flag to his adoring fans.

Oscar at speed. The Cooper was a huge upgrade from his Ferrari-Chev “car 54 where are you”. While not a newer big modified car, Oscar had great results.

Oscar was challenged by Sam Feinstein’s newly acquired Lola T-70. The pair finished 1st & 2nd in both races.

An idea of how dangerous yet wonderful Reading was. A ditch and culvert protected by hay bales as Keck drives hard past the stop sign.

BARC driver Buzz Marcus won DP in both races. Riding high is his gorgeous wife Ronnie.

Buzz heads out onto the airport in his very quick TR-4. The only cars to beat him in the race were Koveleski’s Cooper and Feinstein’s Lola. That is how fast Marcus was.

Yet another BARC driver Mickey Cohen (not the gangster) won G Modified in both races with his Lotus 23.

The victories were not easy as John Heyer’s 23 stayed close.

John Repasche in his Porsche RSK won F Modified on Saturday but was a DNF on Sunday.

Repasch holds off Kime’s TR-4. Kime would get a 3rd in DP on Sunday morning but drop to last on Sunday afternoon.

An older but very fast Corvette of G. Fisher was second only to the Keck Cobra beating a very big field of A-B productions and A sedan cars.

Corvette #55 won BP on Sunday morning and came back to not just win BP but first overall in the afternoon.

Sammy Feinstein was better known for his AP 427 Cobra. Sam was ready for something even quicker and raced this Lola T-70 for two years.

Randy Canfield finished 2nd in the 1st HP race but had this wheel come off during the Sunday race.

Canfield’s left rear is dragging as the wheel chases him. Dempsey in #77 wonders where the wheel is going next.

Randy’s car takes the escape road but the wheel seems to want to make the corner. Jack Cattel’s Sprite chases Dempsey.

BARC driver Steve Elfenbein’s Corvette races with the purple Barracuda of Al Schall. Steve as a dnf in the morning but won AP in the afternoon when Keck’s Cobra dropped out.

T.Jorgenson’s Corvette looks a bit weary as he powers back onto the airport runways. He would finish top 3 in AP in both races.

The Lotus S7 of Willis Weldon leads the Porsche of Scarborough and the Lotus 7 of BARC driver Judy Beattie. Weldon would win both races, Beattie a 3rd and a dnf and Scarborogh a 2nd and a 3rd.

Now the Scarborough Porsche is leading the Lotus and BARC wonder woman Judy Beattie in the black Lotus 7 is challenging Weldon.

Willis Weldon now has a commanding lead in his CP Lotus. Best part of the shot are the corner workers enjoying the sun.

The Porsche 912 of Erhadrt Schlosser leads the Healey of Richard Walters and the Elva Courier of Loren Solnick.

D production all Modified cars made for an interesting mix. Barnet Weber’s MGB is followed by a Palmer Smeltz’ GSM Dart which blocked Mickey Cohen off the road.

Lyle Heck’s #65 MGB chases Howlands #40 TR-4. A DP Turner is about to be passed by Jphn Heyer’s Lotus 23. What a mix of cars and how great a race.

A rear look at the rare GSM Delta as it chases a much more common MGB. In this race, Palmer Smeltz in the Delta finished just 2 seconds behind Lyle Heck’s MGB.

Ferril “shorty” Miller had this Turner dialed in. The car was rare and maybe the best car for FP. At reading he was 4 seconds a lap faster than the next car.

Long’s TR-3 is racing hard with O’Malley’s MGA. Neither finished in the first race. Hmm, I wonder what happened.

A bunch of FP cars on the interior roads. MGA, TR-3, Alfa, Alpine. F Production always had a lot of competitors

Ken Gee’s Lotus 7 with a SAAB engine holding off Joe Cam’s Morgan. Despite being very different cars, their lap times were almost identical. Gee won with Joe Cam just a few seconds behind.

Bob Turgeon won both HP races in his very tidy Sprite.

Frank Nagle #83 is chased hard by Ralph Kemmerer #68 and #55 Hatch. These 3 would mix it up on Saturday and Sunday.

A lone FIAT topolino in D sedan driven by H Emmert was not fast, but fun to watch.

BARC driver Charley Stell’s Formcar leads an older FIII cooper. Stell was top 5 in both races.

A great shot to show how competitive Formula Vee was and still is. 27 Vees raced. You can see the red #57 of David Piper bringing up the rear.

Two hard charging vees leave a little dust from dropping a wheel. The numbers are not seen but from the attitude of the cars these guys are driving hard.

Three different formula cars together. An older FIII car, a more moden FC car and a Vee are all vying for position.

The field is spread out just a bit but the crowd is loving the racing. Vee’s were not fast, but they sure were furious.

The 3 stripes on thie Alfa indicate the driver is a novice in his first race weekend. Drivers had to successfully complete an SCCA drivers school to enter. H. Wessells was the driver
