1959 MONTGOMERY SCCA NATIONAL

A gloomy weekend but great competition. It would be hard to match last years Scarab - Lister duel, but George Constantine was there with his Aston-Martin DBR-2 and he and Walt Hansgen in the Costin-Lister beat up each other all year. Jim Jeffords was back with his Purple People Eater Vette but his car slowed and Bob Grossman’s Ferrari chalked up another victory. Bob Bucher was in his Lotus Club and drove to a 2nd in GM. Charley Kurtz in his A C Bristol got a 3rd in EP. The young BARCBOYS made the nefarious Newburg run for a beer in each bar from the city limit to the Hudson and back. We paid the price for it on race morning.
