1956 Watkins Glen Grand Prix Weekend The SCCA looked at the track and declared it unsafe and would not sanction the race.  Cam Argetsinger and the WGGP group had worked tirelessly to get the new course finished and went ahead anyway.  A great field turned out for the first permanent road course to be built in the US after WWII.  A very young Dave Nicholas and John Kelley were there and here is what the Glen looked like 51 years ago through the eyes of BARC to be's.
